24.03.2015 – Migration Diary

In 15th day, cold and windy weather continued to have an impact on Istanbul. Until 14:00, mobility was good, however; after 14:00, the passing came to the regular state with lesser numbers. The total number is about 4,000, whose important part comprise of White Storks. The recorded species are respectively White Stork, Common Buzzard, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Sparrowhawk, Marsh Harrier, Greater Spotted Eagle, Lesser Spotted Eagle, Black Stork, Hen Harrier, Goshawk and Kestrel. As far as older studies, the end of the March will be the most active period for migration and also the species variety will be good in this period. Just before the rain that is expected for Friday, in tomorrow and thursday the mobility of migration will be good according to my estimation. Moreover, anyone should not be surprised if the number will increase 5 digit place. Nevertheless, the person who will come to the watching migration should be prepared cold weathers that is caused by high northern wind.
