09.04.2015 – Migration Diary

31th day was stormy and cold. Except a couple of Common Buzzard that passed before the downpour, any migrant was seen today. Probably there will be another migration movement, however; because of the snow that occured in the middle region of Turkey, estimating movement for today is very hard. Until today, the total number of migrants is approximately 150,000. The numbers of Greater Spotted Eagle and Pallid Harrier are already over than older studies. In contrass, the number of species that migrate with important numbers over the Bosphorus such as Common Buzzard, Lesser Spotted Eagle, Sparrowhawk is less than normal level up to now. Even there will be passing, because of the high winds I couldn’t see them. The estimated weather conditions for weekend says that it will be a good weekend in term of watching migration.
